A WARM WELCOME! to the family and friends of Freya at St Paul’s on Saturday 31st August.

Those who are to be Confirmed on Monday evening 23rd September
There will be three people from St Paul’s who will be Confirmed this year.  Please pray for Jon, Glynis and Russell and be there to support them at St James’ Church that evening.  In preparation for this Russell is going to be Baptised in our 10 am Communion service on Sunday 8th September.  I gave him the choice of being Baptised by Bishop Peter Burrows  at his Confirmation but he chose St Paul’s so that he could be amongst his Christian family, and who was I to stand in his way!

BACK TO CHURCH SUNDAY – 29TH SEPTEMBER AT 10.00 AM The invitation cards are now out for this important service when we are encouraged to invite people to join us for worship.  It will be a Morning Worship service (without Communion) and Murray will be preaching.  You will need to fill in the details of the date and time to give to those you invite and keep the back of the card as a reminder of who you have invited so that you can pray for them.  Following the service Murray will start another Questions! Questions! Series on Wednesday 9th October at 7.30 pm in Church.

More from Murray
Please think of me this week as I will be away on retreat!  The point of the retreat is to have just over three days in silence when we can meet with God in a deeper way without the demands and distractions of daily life.  Each day we have short services morning and evening and about half an hour with the retreat director to talk over what has been going on.  Just now I feel a little apprehensive knowing that there will be struggles as well as joys but I look forward to returning with a renewed sense of God’s call to ministry and, I hope, with a greater sense of what my priorities should be in the coming year.

Those who are to be Confirmed on Monday evening 23rd September

From Murray
Last week we went down to Sevenoaks for a few days.  My Aunt is having to move to a new care home so Ann  got her ready for the move.  The first day was forecast to be sunny and warm so we went down to the south coast to Hastings and Bexhill where Molly used to go with her husband and with my Mum and me.  It was one of those glorious days which you wish would go on for ever.  I was able to push Molly in her wheelchair to the beach we used to visit and then we had a cup of tea by the De La Warr Pavillion!
